Mr. BRYANT MANIRAKIZA KAIRUGAVU is a Partner at the law firm and heads the Litigation, ADR & Intellectual Property Group. He mainly handles litigation matters arising out of commercial disputes. Bryant holds a Bachelors Degree in Law (LL. B) from Makerere University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (DLP) from the Institute of Legal Practice and Development (ILPD).

He is a Partner in our TMT and Intellectual Property practice group with a wealth of experience of over 9 years specializing on all aspects of intellectual property. His experience includes providing strategic advice on commercial and transactional intellectual property matters, including structuring and management, due diligence, investigations and advising on, and drafting, commercial and license agreements.  He also advises clients on trade mark and copyright litigation, patent perfection and on matters of infringement, passing off and anti-counterfeiting. He works with clients across a range of sectors including:  media and entertainment, telecommunications, advertising and sport, fashion, cosmetics, tourism & hospitality and electronics.

He also assists clients manage, understand and resolve complex disputes with revenue taxing authorities, including pre-audit procedures or dispute prevention, tax audits or assessments, and dispute resolution or settlement.

Bryant is actively involved in the employment law practice and routinely advises on an array of employment matters including but not limited to restructurings, review of employee handbooks, termination and dismissal of employees. He handles a number of employment related matters before the Rwandan courts and has participated in a number of employment law webinars and conferences.

Bryant is a market leader in Arbitration, litigation and Dispute resolution. He represents numerous businesses, Non-Governmental Organizations, Corporations as well as several multinationals in several commercial, labour and civil disputes both at trial and appellate levels.

He is regarded a market leader in Employment advisory and Dispute resolution. He has acted for several businesses and multinationals in employment restructures, obtaining work permits, drafting and review of Human Resource documentation as well as structuring employee benefits schemes.
